Promotions

1. Augumented reality posters

Not only a poster to catch the eye but can be interacted with smart devices which will allow us to show other multimedia content such as our promotional video and Facebook and Twitter. Not only this but we could link it to kickstarter, our website and much more allowing everyone quick access to all our information.

 

The software we would use would be the free Aurasma app which is on the Google Play store (android devices) and on the App Store (Apple products).

2. Augumented reality t-shirts

Not only did i want to do augumented reality posters, which has been done at previous U-Doc's i thought i'd want to take it one step further. To do this i wanted to create an augumented reality t-shirt which can be worn for when we are out shooting and also as rewards for people if we apply for Kickstarter.

 

This however would differ slightly from the posters. By using a smart device on the t-shirt you won't be taken to a promotional video or that which the posters do. What it does is bring the image on the t-shirt to life, in a 3D moving image.

The reason for this is that the posters are already accomplishing a convergence of media interactivity by using a promotional video, what I want the t-shirts to do is create a hype about them which inturn will create a hype about the documentary.

3. Website

To allow people information on what our documentary is about, we will create a website entirely dedicated to the documentary. This will include a promotional video, all our information, links to kickstarter, tiwtter, facebook and all other multimedia.

 

This would be also a great place to get feedback from peiople and let everyone know if we are hosting any promotional events.

4.Live competition/promotion 

We thought this would a perfect way to generate hype and interest.

 

Originally we thought about doing this for competetive food eating documentary and we were going to hold out own eating competetion either in winchester or the University. Not only would this have been a great way to get people interested in our documentary but it would also give us some footage to go on our multi-media devices.

 

As we have changed our idea to looking at Bronies we obviously had to change our idea for this. One idea would to create our own mini-convention, where using our multimedia devices, forums and contacts we could get enough Bronies to come join in. Not only could we use this as generating local interest but hopefully it could travel accross the Brony network and generate interest there as well.

5. Fourms

I wanted to look at what froums Bronies have as it is one of the best ways to get involved in a community like this. The Bronies were pretty much non-existent until easy forms of communication where available through ther internet, this allowed their community to thrive online. Therefore by ionteracting and going where they are is the best way to promote our documentary.

6. Radio

General way to generate interest, get a mention on the radio or even a radio interview explaining what we are doing and if possible bring one of our primaries along to explain what being a Brony is all about.

4. Multimedia

We would use several multimedia applications such as;

 

Facebook - Great way to communicate with the public and communities. Can show off promotional products and create general interest in our ideas whilst also linking to others such as the ones below.

Twitter -  Easy way to message communties and generate alot of interest. Plus oragnising events could be done through this.

Vimeo - Currently looking at getting this as it a more proffessional website for showcasing short films, however it now costs monthly to use it. 

 

Reddit - Already has a massive Brony community so would be a great way to get in contact with them.

Using a Twitter account we are able to interact with the Brony community and keep them up to date and interest with our company.

Viral Campaign

Facebook

 

Contacted the Bronies UK page through facebook which has 1,504 followers. This is the official Bronies page for the UK and they even have their own website where they post news and facts about My Little Pony.

 

After explaining who we were and what we wanted to do they were more than happy to help. Not only this they posted something on their Facebook page telling bronies to get in touch with us, then they did one better and posted it on their website as well.

 

This was great for us as it meant people would get in contact with us.

T-Shirt Design

Decided to create our own production T-Shirts. This allows us to look professional on shoot and at the same time advertise our own company.

 

To the right is our design. We changed the text from black to white as it is more asthetically pleasing and is easier to read from distance. We also added in a red outline to fit in with the color scheme of RedCherryProductions and reduced the contrast between the black and white.
