Meeting 1 (Thursday 3rd October)

Met up first time as a group, discussed production name and roles.

The name we came up with was Red Cherry Productions, chose this name as it was catchy and we felt we could brand it well.

The roles we chose were:

Producer/Promotions - Harry
Director/Researcher - Michaela
Sound - Jordan
DoP - Joe
Camera - Liam
Editing/Lighting - Jonathan

Decided to make a weekly meeting every Tuesday morning 10am-12pm

Meeting 2 (Tuesday 8st October)

Our first Tuesday meeting we went through the Learning Network, looking at what we needed to do. Firstly we went through copyright looking at what we had to do.

Next we went through documentary Ideas, we had several ranging from Traffic Incidents, Please Weaponry, Care Homes, WitchCraft and a few more. In the end we settled upon Competetive Food Eating. The reason why we chose this as it was rising within the UK and hadn't really been done before, it was popular in America and Japan but in the Uk it was still unknown.

We talked about starting our website and decided to try use the software Webydo to do it and would have a go at it and talk about it again next week to see how we got on. Lastly we created an email account so we could message peiople and start to think about setting up other multimedia.

Meeting 3 (Tuesday 15th October)

The first topic we talked about was the website, we'd all found it hard to use and looked into different software. We decided to go with Wix. This website allowed you to create other website easily and free of charge, something that everyone could use. Created a nice template of the website.

We then collated together our research and started talking more about our documentary idea. So far all we could find was one documentary made before on kickstarter which raised all its money but was based in America so didn't really affect our idea.

After coming up with our production company name last week we looked at branding the name. What we came up with is using the cherry style out of a gambling machiene (in this case a one armed bandit) not only this but we thought it would be cool to add in the whole gambling machine into the logo design. We created in such a way that we could animate it at a later stage.

Finally we completed copyright for our company.

Meeting 4 (Tuesday 22nd October)

We looked over the website, everyone added their input and color schemes and changed were made. After this everyone added in thri own tabs into the website, we all decided to follow the same format on our pages as it looked more professional and was easy to move about. The website style we chose was reaonably basic as it fit the criteria for what it did and didn't want lots of fancy things taking away the point of it.

We then made sure everyone was taking their photojournalist photos and discussed what everyone was doing and helped each other out with any technical issues they were experiencing.

Then we started to think about how to create interest about our documentary and looked into multimedia aspects. So we created our company facebook account. Also created our own company Youtube account where we would add all our work this year.

Meeting 5 (Tuesday 29th October)

Went over the website again, changed a few thing and decided to add matching headshots into the website, this way it was easy to identify whose page it was and by making them matching it looked more proffesional, also by making them black and white it fitted in with the website.

Made sure everyone was started to fill out tabs and knew what they were doing, any problemas we talked them through as a group.

Finally we created a Twitter page as another multmedia device.

Meeting 6 (Tuesday 5th November)

After hearing Karin's views and looking more into research we decided to change our dopcumentary iidea to Bronies. Although we still liked the idea of Competetive food eating, it didn't give us the same 'open the door' effect that Bronies did. We also felt that the Brony community as a whole would be more interesting and dynamic to look at. Once again we could only find one documentary on it and once again it was based in America.

We carried on our research and started to look at how to contact our primaries, this appeared to be alot harder than we thought as the majority of Bronies had aliases.

Decided to carry on with this and filling out our tabs.

Meeting 7 (Monday 11th November)

Managed to get in contact with someone to boost our followers up on Twitter to just over 5,000 followers, decided to do this as it looked more professional and people generally pay more attention to someone with a greater number of followers. Started tweeting Bronies and their communities to generate interest and find primaries.

Started messaging Brony communities on Facebook as well and got a massive response from BroniesUK. Not only did they put a message on their page with 1,504 followers but also made a post on their own website advertising for primaries. Initially they were concerned over how we were going to show them in as they have had alot of bad press before. However after getting to know us a bit more they were more than happy to help.

Got emailed by Bronies wanting to take part and also from the Chairman and a comitte member of BUCK (Brony UK Convention) The biggest Brony convention in Europe which is based in the UK and began a rapor with them.

Contacts gave us Skype address if we wanted to interview as they lived quite a long way away so created a Skype account also.

All in all, what a great day!
