This idea came to me after reading an article from the Telegraph, about the decrease of the Japanese population since the 1950’s. The number of elderly people aged 65 or over surpassed 30 million for the first time. In contrast to children aged 14 and under which decreased to a record low of 13 per cent.
However, Japan is well known for their “unusual” culture from the western world point of view. Although, the sex industry is a very dark world, with such things a blow up sex doles from cartoons porn of young girls. This idea would take an in-depth look into the Japanese sex industry and be asking the questions “Why with such a big businesses market, that the population over the years have decreased?”
The only problem with this documentary idea, it would involve taking a trip to Japan. However, with the whole production team being students, I highly doubt that this documentary would be developed further due to not having the finances. Also from further research it has already been done.
Blood of the Font Lines
Being a member of the West Essex Aeromodellers flying club for over ten years now, I have formed close relationships and got to know fellow members. Most members of the club are retired old aged pensioners who are ex-service men who served during World War Two who had to sign up to the army due to conscription.

Although, not many club members were on the front lines, near enough all of them used to drive vehicle carrying tanks, ammunition and general supply’s to the front line. The basic idea for this documentary was to look at the forgotten hero’s of the Second World War.

Trekkies
Trekkies is a documentary that opens the door to the audience showing the world the Star Trek fan base. This documentary is great example of a observational mode, allowing the "Trekkies" to feel comfortable in their own environment. This film is very similar styles to the way that we want portray "Bronies”. However, we don’t want to have a humorous aspect to our documentary.
From a TV programme that only lasted three seasons in the 1960s, "Star Trek" has grown into a multibillion-dollar cult following involving several spin-off series, numerous amounts of movies, and countless merchandise items. This phenomenon is due to the shows ever growing devoted fans, popularly known as "Trekkies” and “Trekkers”. The documentary follows the actress Denise Crosby who plays “Security Chief Tasha Yar” explores the world of the fan base in an affectionate and humorous look at some characters, who demonstrate how "Star Trek" has affected their lives.
Senna
Senna is a documentary based on the Brazilian triple world Formula One Champion Ayrton Senna. The narrative follows his monumental life career becoming one of the worlds best Formula One drivers, to his tragic death in Imola, Italy. The film gives an in-site to Senna’s struggles both on track against the films portray of an nemesis, the French World Champion Alain Prost, and off track against the politics that hung over the sport. This film is difficult to establish which type of documentary mode it is. On the other hand, the documentary uses the poetic mode to its full effect, such as using dramatic music from the composer Antonio Pinto, but yet also adding light leaks and lens flair to give it that artistic vibe. In a way, this documentary opens the door to a mass audience of how dramatic the world of Formula One can be. Due to I have experienced this first hand; I used to define the sport as “boring”. However, since watching this film how exhilarating motor sport is.
